Niagara Ontario Wineries Tour
Grape Escape; Niagara Ontario Wineries Tour and Tasting.
I like wine tasting.
For my birthday, my sister book a great Niagara Ontario Wineries Tour and Tasting.
Therefore we visit three amazing family-owned wineries.
“Life is too short to drink bad wine”. Johann Wolfgang von Goethe
First Stop Chocolate F/X; a family-owned local chocolate factory.
Cocoa fruit has a rough, leathery rind and looks so gross.
At the end of the tour, we enjoy some free chocolate samples.
First Winery: Lakeview Estate Winery is one of the largest wineries in Ontario.
We spend a great time with knowledgeable local guides.
Also, he shared interesting facts about the art of winemaking specially Icewines. Then leads us through the wine tasting.
Here for the first time, I taste Icewines. It’s a dessert wine.
Do you know the story behind icewines?
Then we explored the vineyard and took some photos before visiting the gift shop.
Lunch stop: Historic town; Niagara on the Lake
Pretty European style town, with cute small boutiques and so many different restaurants.
It’s great to spend time strolling the town.
Second Winery: Joseph’s Estate Wines
Joseph’s Estate Winery was the second winery and a less commercialize one.
They have reasonable offers.
Third Winery: Pillitteri Estates Winery
We had a very pleasant time at Pillitteri winery, Our guide made this tour so fun!
A Family owned and operated with an interesting history.
We taste Ontario VQA wines in barrel cellars in a private tasting room.
