Modern Singapore
During our last trip to Singapore, we were amazed by Modern Singapore and its tropical climate and tasty food. Our first impression was like wow lots of skyscrapers and high-rises.
Singapore has so many tourist attraction points, that you’ll have a long list of must-sees and do. Due to lack of time, we just covered as much as we could do on 4D3N.
Finally one of my childhood dreams came true, visiting universal studio singapore!! hooray!!!!.
Day 1
Our trip started with an early flight to Singapore and 2 small backpacks.
The first stop was Singapore Flyer- Since we did not want to miss even a minute, we took a direct train from Changi Airport to Singapore Flyer.
We had lunch at Hawker food court under the Flyer a place called “Singapore Food Trail”
They have designed this food court based on how Singapore was in the 1960’s.
The second stop was the Marina Bay sand area; such as Garden by the Bay, Supertree Grove, and Flower Dome.
We walked through The Helix Bridge to Marina Bay sand, which I do not recommend for those who have a hard time walking under the sun for a long time.
Also, Helix Bridge provides an excellent viewpoint across Marina Bay and a good photo opportunity.
Finally, we checked in around 4 pm and fell asleep.
Bras basah station
So in the evening, we head out to do some sightseeing in Little India and Chinatown.
Chinatown is easy to get to, it has its own MRT station but to get to Little India you need to walk a bit.
We ended our day by chilling out at Clarke Quay – probably one of the great nightspots with a variety of restaurants and live music.
Visiting Universal Studio was part of our plan for the second day. On their website you can find how to get there; by train, taxi or cable car. So we reached there early and had an unforgettable day at this movie-themed park. For us, the two best rides were Transformers 3D & Revenge of the Mummy.
Unfortunately, the Battlestar Cylon & Human rides were closed for maintenance.
HarbourFront station
Day 3
We started our third day by visiting Fullerton Bay Hotel and Merlion Statue.
So in the Merlion area, you’ll have fantastic views of Marina Bay
– Also taking a River Cruise on a hot and sunny day was a great idea both for relaxing and taking photos.
Duration: 40 min
The areas the cruise covers are Suntec City, Fountain of Wealth, Civic District, War Memorial, Dome Gardens by the Bay, Hylix Bridge, ArtScience Museum (‘Lotus’), Esplanade, and many more.
In addition, visiting the Raffles Hotel and having a glass of original Singapore Sling is a must !!!.
Singapore Sling is the iconic cocktail of this country. And just 6-7 mins walking distance from the City Hall station to the hotel.
Also exploring the Bugies area is interesting, you can find great souvenirs.
Since you are in Singapore, Do not miss out on the Light and Water Show at Marina Bay Sands.
Furthermore, it would be nice to explore the Esplanade and some live performances in that area.
Day 4
We checked out early and off to KL.
Tips:
- Due to hot and humid weather, do not forget to drink lots of water.
- Food is not so cheap in famous areas but you can buy good local food at some hawker centers.
- Also, transportation could be expensive if you take a taxi but their public transport specially the train (MRT) is so affordable and convenient.
- Probably Singapore is more expensive than other South East Asian countries so be prepared.
I hope you like it 🙂
